Opportunities to Gain Experience
But a lot of the opportunities that have come my way from Grinnell, especially as a low income student have been overwhelming, and I feel like I just want to do everything that I can. There's not enough time. But like, for example, the CLS funded me to do an internship over the summer. So I was in Des Moines all summer doing an internship at Boat Smart. So they do nonpartisan, unbiased research on political candidates and officials, and they post all that information onto their website so voters can make informed decisions. And that was a really cool experience. I got to be there for 10 weeks. So it was great because I could build my resume and I didn't have to worry about money. So that was really great.
