The Institute for Global Engagement is an office here. They work with students to connect them with off-campus study opportunities. They also work with intercultural exchange programs and they also have connections to doing cultural engagement here in Grinnell. I studied abroad this past summer in Cape Town, South Africa. I had a really positive experience with the off-campus study office and the employees there were extremely helpful in helping me understand the implications that I had on my schedule, the implications I had on my academics, but also helping me personally prepare as well. IGE stands for "Institute for Global Engagement." I work as a Global Envoy there working to connect my peers with their interests into seeing how they can connect those interests into applying that for off-campus study programs. The Marcus Family Global Kitchen is a really new space here at Grinnell College, and really a place where you can come together, build community, and also learn why food is important to all aspects of life. That's the center of Liberal Arts, being able to put the hands-on experience and apply those theories we learned. It's all about the global experience.
