    Finding Your Balance

    Being Yourself and Having Fun

At Grinnell, you can explore all aspects of yourself — student, athlete, activist, social butterfly — you name it, and you can do it.

Daniel Snyder ’22 says he might start out the day working on a project for a class; later, when it’s time for cross country practice, he can focus on being an athlete. “Being able to do so many different things in one day is great,” he says.

There’s something about Grinnell that helps people find each other, says Antorah Chopra ’23. “There’s a certain draw to Grinnell that brings a community together that I haven’t encountered anywhere else.”

Being able to do so many different things in one day is great. So it's like you're a student doing let's say, like communications work. But then also you change your practice, and then you're an athlete. And then maybe after, coming back from a meet, you'll be in like competition mode. But then when you get back, you're now in student mode. So it's just really neat to be doing all different things and the depth. Some of people here, you don't find them anywhere else. And when you end up at Grinnell it's for a reason. Maybe you don't know what that reason is when you pick it. However, I found the best group of friends. So I think that just that group of friends have really indicated to me that I belong here. There's a certain draw to Grinnell that, that um, brings a community together that I haven't encountered anywhere else. Some things you can do with people or friends that you find on campus is go to Dairy Barn, which has really good ice cream, and my favorite would be the Cow Pie Cyclone, which is like a blizzard from Dairy Queen, and they have sundaes, slushies, everything you could think of, and it's a great way [inaudible].
